The idea

Your child will love you. But with Kepty, they will also know you; who you were, what you feared, what you hoped for; before they were old enough to ask. The parent they will know at 18 is not the same person holding them today. Write when something moves you. The rest is kept.

From inside a vault

Day one

The morning after

"You arrived at 6:42am. I did not know it was possible to love someone this much before they even existed. I did not sleep. Not because you cried. I just could not stop looking at you."

First birthday

"You took three steps today and fell. You looked at me to see if you should cry. I smiled. You smiled back. Then you tried again."

A Sunday evening

"You told me I was your best friend today. I am 32 years old. I did not expect to still need to hear that."

Late at night

"We argued for the first time this year. Properly argued. You were right and I was wrong. I did not tell you that then. I am telling you now."

A Tuesday morning

"You barely spoke to me this week. I know that is normal. I am writing this so you know I was not angry — I was just missing you, and you were still right there."

Their birthday

The vault opens. A password arrives. Every version of your parent, kept for this moment.

The day everything was written for

Why Kepty is different
I

A portrait, not a highlight reel

This is not a photo album. It is years of who you actually were; your doubts, your fears, your love at its most unguarded. The most honest thing you will ever give them.

II

They do not know it exists

The child knows nothing until their 18th birthday. No performance. No audience. Just you, writing honestly, knowing they will only read it when they are old enough to understand.

III

Words, photos and videos

Write when something moves you. Add a photo of the moment. Record a video of yourself talking to them. The vault holds all of it; text, image, and voice; until the day it opens.

IV

Write whenever you feel it

Write at 2am after a hard day. Write when they say something you never want to forget. No schedule, no pressure; just write when the moment calls. We only send one reminder a year, on their birthday, to capture who you are right now.

How it works

Write, photograph, record. Everything sealed until the day it matters most.

Questions
No. Your entries are encrypted the moment you write them. Nobody at Kepty can read them; not our team, not our servers, not anyone. Only you have access while you write. Your child receives access on their 18th birthday, and nobody else ever does.
No. Kepty is entirely separate from any account your child has. There is no app on their phone, no notification, no email. Nothing exists for them until the day they turn 18, when they receive a single email with their access key. Until that day, it is completely invisible to them.
You can start at any age, from birth to seventeen. The vault opens on their 18th birthday regardless of when you begin. A parent who starts at age ten still gives their child eight years of who they were. That is still a portrait most people never receive.
Yes. You can invite a second parent, a co-parent, or a guardian to write in the same vault. Each parent has their own entries. Your child receives everything from both on their 18th birthday; two voices, one vault.
No. If you pause or cancel, your entries are kept safely. You will not be able to add new ones until you reactivate, but nothing is ever deleted. We hold what you have written for as long as you need.
If we ever make the decision to close, we commit to sending every parent a full export of their entries; every note, photo, and video; at least 90 days before we shut down. Your entries belong to you, not to us. We will never disappear without giving you everything back first.
